It’s Vacation and I…

So, it’s school vacation for my boys now. Christmas has passed and the new year looms just before us. The weather here in New Hampshire has been rather warm for December and the snow and ice have melted from our driveway. I’ve got two boys skateboarding as I type, and my third is rereading The Keeper of the Lost Cities books because he received the last in the series for Christmas and is eager to get to it. Gosh, is he like me in this regard!

I should be cleaning. I should be doing laundry. My husband is working on my son’s room (new flooring). There are so many things that I should be doing but I’ve got my dog on the couch with me to my right, one of my cats to my left. My boys are happy and not arguing (for the moment) and I’ve got a new book just staring at me. I’ve GOT to read. Just got to.

I know I’m not the only one with this insatiable appetite. I know there are other kindred spirits (channeling Anne of Green Gables) who touch the cover of a book, hold it within their hands, and just have to open it and begin.

So… on this Sunday afternoon, I hope you’re able to join me in reading that book you’ve got beside you! For me, it’s We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter. It’s got amazing ratings on Goodreads (don’t know what Goodreads.com is? I highly recommend it!)

What is it that you’re reading right now and what are your thoughts so far?
